Getting to Know Your Serger - Class #2



Proposed outline for classes...

Class 1:
In this class, students will learn threading, identifying basic parts and features of a serger, basic skill in threading your serger (4 thread threading), and how to balance thread/tension.

Class 2:
     - Uses of 3 threads

- Three thread narrow
     - Rolled hem 

Class 3:
     - Combining stitches in a garment
     - Making a basic t-shirt
     - Serging an inside circle


Serger Club:  (Supplies needed:  napkin fabric, baby flannel, t-shirt knit)

   Club meeting 1:
     - Let's make a set of napkins using a rolled hem
     - Skill wooly nylon and other specialty thread

   Club meeting 2:
     - Let's use specialty thread - wooly nylon
     - We will make a baby blanket
     - Skill serging circles

Skill Details:
You must be able to thread your serger to take this class. Class 2: - Uses of 3 threads - Three thread narrow - Rolled hem
Requirements:
Please bring your serger instruction book and parts, screw drivers, extra needles, a charm pack, a 3 ring notebook, page protectors, tape, scissors, 4 spools of different color serger thread. Bring knit fabric scraps

Palmer/Pletch certified and trained to teach serger, fit, and pant fit. Joyce has been teaching for over 30 years and sewing professionally for over 20 years
